Curriculum - EYFS

Welcome to our EYFS Curriculum page. The website is currently undergoing some exciting updates. Content is gradually being added. The website will be finalised by April 2024.

In our Early Years, the children are at the heart of every decision. Our vision is to ensure that every child has the best possible start to their education which enables them to fulfill their true potential and ensures they are well prepared for the next step of their journey.

All children are individual and unique in their own right. Our curriculum aims to provide children a strong foundation on which to build as they move through school and face the challenges that each key stage brings.  The prime areas of learning underpin our curriculum. We want children to be good communicators, have strong fine and gross motor skills. We want them to be able to identify and regulate their emotions and be confident when trying out new ideas or developing friendship. This then enables them to focus on the specific areas of learning where they develop their love of reading and writing, become mathematicians, understand the past, the environment in which they live, and become budding artists or musicians.  We want our children to be confident in all they do and aspire to be the best that they can be.

Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all children. It is theme based but also allows the interests of the children to be followed and provides opportunities for learning which extend and develop understanding both indoors and outside the classroom. Our approach includes a balance of both, child initiated and adult led learning opportunities.  We want our children to explore, show curiosity, ask questions, develop their vocabulary and be motivated to learn and be successful.  We encourage and support children to be independent, take on new challenges and explore the world around them.
