At Bridgtown Primary School, we are aware of the financial hardships that some families are facing and would like to encourage you to apply for free school meals for your child if you think you may be eligible.

If you receive Income Support, Income-based JSA, Income-related ESA, Universal Credit with family net earnings of £7,400 or less, or other benefits, you may well be eligible. This will bring in to school an extra annual amount of £1455 per child, which goes directly to your child’s education. This will also add your child to the list of eligibility for the National Tutoring Programme.

Parents of children in Reception, Y1 and Y2 who receive Universal Free School Meals but think they may be eligible under the benefits-related criteria also need to apply, as these children are not automatically included just because they receive the universal free meals.
